Pack a Day is a Chrome extension that estimates a cigarette equivalent for the air in a city you choose. This policy covers what the extension handles and what it does not.

What we collect

No accounts, no sign-up, no login. We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising, fingerprinting, or trackers of any kind. The only thing that ever leaves your browser is what you need to look up a city's air, described next.

What the extension sends

These leave your browser, and only when you ask for them:

• City search. As you type a city name, the text is sent to our server at packaday.vercel.app, which looks up matching cities.
• Air quality. When you open the pack, the latitude and longitude of the city you picked are sent to the same server, which returns the current PM2.5 and AQI.
• Your location, first run only. The first time you open the extension, if you allow it, your device location is read once and its coordinates are sent to our server to name your city and fetch its air. After that the extension uses the last city you picked, so your location is not read again unless you remove the extension. You can decline the location prompt and just type a city instead.

Our server forwards these requests to Open-Meteo (air quality) and BigDataCloud (turning coordinates into a city name), and passes the result back. We do not attach your identity to any request, because we never receive it.

What stays on your device

Your last chosen city and hours are saved locally through Chrome's storage so the extension remembers them next time. This never leaves your computer, and you can wipe it by removing the extension.

Server logs

Like most web servers, ours may briefly record request details such as coordinates and timestamps to keep the service running and to stop abuse. These logs hold no names, emails, or account identifiers, and are not sold or shared.

Children

Pack a Day is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above changes with it.
